not sure about the classification marking being on the tin/slipcase tully... i think it will depend on what the retailers decide. the sin city tin from jb hi-fi had nothing, as did the batman begins slipcase at jb hi-fi. however, the constantine slipcase at jb hi-fi did have the marking printed on. _________________

You can register your interest at www.ezydvd.com.au
That way they will email you about a pre-order.
You can also go to http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvds
They have it as a pre-order for $29.98
Ooooh, our beloved Firefly is at number 1 at JB HI_FI !!!!
Also Buffy monster box on special till 1 Jan 06 for $269
Check out the special box for King Kong!
I can almost guarantee that if you want the Shiny extras, you had better pre-order, they usually sell out very fast.
I have already pre-ordered/registered at both, and am about to check out Sanity, I'll sell the shirts off my kids backs to pay for them, when they arrive, if I have to!!!!
As for the reversible cover... I heart Universal!!!! |

i think i'd be leaning to the slipcase myself as i like my dvd's to fit togethor and a tincase would be too bulky...mind you i've never actually seen a tincase except for the images of them on ezydvd's website.
but i have a couple of other movies in slipcases
i'd like to see what the mouse mat piccy is though.
i see the JB's is mentioning the slipcase online so i think i can pre-order it and get it online. as i live regional i can't just saunter into a store on the day of sale. ezydvd has no mention of its tin yet but as they have other movies in tins online i'd imagine they have this tin online to.
very nice to be forewarned about the packaging to otherwise i would have just gone and bought it at Big W lol |

theres an ezydvd in southland shopping centre, near the food court, right across from HMV, if you live nowhere near southland www.ezydvd.com.au has a list of locations | [/quote]
Oh cool, thanks for that. I live no where near Southland but I go past the place every day on my way to and from work. I very rarely go in but I will now, or once the DVD is released that is. After Christmas would be better any way as it's a madhouse at this time of the year. |

I'm actually kinda ashamed at how excited I got over the reversible cover, .
And I was gonna buy it from JB in the first place, but oh my god is this a new incentive!

Also an O-Ring is like a slipcase without a top or bottom, isn't it? Like the thing around the non-amaray Band of Brothers boxset ... if that helps

Thanks for the reply. I have never seen one of these O -ring cases. Surely a slip cover without a top or a bottom would just fall off would it not. Does it attach to the DVD box somehow to keep it there? If so does it damage the DVD box?
I just pre ordered one from JB online as quoted in another message in the forum. Only thing is it doesn't mention in the pre order whether that includes the freebie or not. I can only hope it does, otherwise I will have to go buy yet another copy when it arrives in the mail to get the gift. |

What are you, a Communist?
Also, I love the reversible cover idea. Universal are wonderful, wonderful people for this. The only thing thats ever on the inside is the scene index, and quite frankly, who really uses that as a reference guide? _________________ "That is a trap. I offer money, you play the man of honour. Squeee so very cool. Can't wait. Now to decide where to get it from. Might convince mum to pre-order at JB for me (early birthday present) then I'll pre-order at ezy-dvd myself. DOn't care about a mouse pad as I usually don't use one.

Here's what I think it is. Please feel free to correct me.
Its purpose, near as I can tell, is to protect the actual DVD case while it is sitting on the shelf.
Hope that helps!! _________________

Hey there Canberra boy.
Now that makes sense, thank you for the excellent sketch. Can't see how they could call it an "o" ring though, more like a "Rectangle Ring". Same as a slip cover though, open at the top and bottom, but not at the front edge. Sorry for being so thick and not realising it after your earlier posting.
Looks like another piece of cardboard for me to lose in the pile of stuff sitting round the TV. I think I would prefer the tin case after all, as it wouldn't get squashed when I stack God knows what on top of it by mistake. I can guarantee that will happen within an hour of me getting the DVD home.
Thanks again |
